It's almost May. Semester is almost over. Summer beginning.

Two, maybe three, very interesting things have happened this week.

First, a certain individual who I had sworn I'd heard the last from actually contacted me. There seems to be a resolution in the the works for the very near future. We shall see.

Secondly, Andy LaPlegua of Icon of Coil emailed me inquiring about how much I would charge for doing a website and to run it as webmaster. So we shall see what comes of this as well.

Lastly, the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim FINALLY lost. After sweeping the Wings and then going to 6-0 total with 2 wins against Dallas, I was getting worried. I'm hoping it is the beginning of the implosion, at least one can dream.

X2 comes out this weekend and I'm not sure yet what to do. Apparently Brian wants to do some huge gathering with a rather large group of people I don't know, a few I do, and do it at a time I think is stupid and more expensive. James and I had already planned on doing our normal movie thing and perhaps doing it with Aaron/Ki. Oh well, the movie will be seen regardless...it's just a matter of with whom it will be seen.

Ah another weekend over. Only a few more weeks of the semester left, although I have practically nothing left to do.

This was the weekend of good movies.

I thought Identity was very good. It didn't have one of those lame twists at the end that every movie seems to try to incorporate (or the twist with a twist with a twist ending). It's more then just a slasher movie, and if you pay attention or re-watch the movie you will see the ending is being built up throughout the entire movie much like the way The Sixth Sense did, although it wasn't quite the same caliber of Sixth Sense.

Speaking of which, I rewatched Sixth Sense this weekend and also watched the rest of Trainspotting. The Sixth Sense I had hated until I decided to rewatch it. I figured out the ending right away so the whole movie just kind of bugged me. But after rewatching it and being able to appreciate the subtleties of the movie, I was impressed with what I think is now M. Knight's top film. Trainspotting was adequate, not great by any means, but it got its point across adequatly.

Next on the list was Confidence. The wierd thing about this movie was that I literally knew every character who had more then 2 lines in the movie...meaning everyone but like the 2 "sisters" who eat each other out I knew. The only problem wrong with this movie was it didn't have the balls to just end with the main guy dying like it supposedly was showing at the very beginning...which brings me back to the first point about adding that extra "twist" into a movie.

To conclude we have No Such Thing. Loosely based, and I do mean loosely, on Beauty and the Beast, this movie had some of the most cynical and enjoyable dialogue. The beast was this great suicidal drunk monster who was a giant fucking asshole.

Anyways, this weekend was also a football weekend.

The NFL draft was Saturday and Sunday, and the Gladiator game was Sunday. The NFL draft was pretty tame for the most part, and there weren't really any huge surprises. My team did really well early on and lucked out on picking up Boss Bailey in the second round. James' Cardinals however were a different story. I dont agree with them trading their 6th pick for the 17th and 18th picks and then drafting 2 guys who weren't 1st round quality. But how everything works out really doesn't show until a few years down the line.

The Gladiators game was good for 2 reasons. First of all Jame's had 2-for-1 tickets and we decided we were going to go sit on the first section of the end zone that was higher up (they were $23 a ticket...). We paid that price, but somehow our tickets were for a different section...on the other side behind the opposite end zone...and first row dead center. We were literally like 10 feet from the field. Best of all was that the section was about 8 feet off the ground and only about 2 feet behind the end zone. Therefore the cheerleaders were below us almost the entire time, except for when they walked out a few feet into the endzone to shake their asses....damn fine entertainment! The second reason the game was good....we fucking won. We scored the first 20 points. On the opening kickoff they fumbled it and we recovered. Scored a touchdown a few plays later. Then on that kickoff they fumbled again and we did the same thing. Then on their next drive we intercepted in the endzone and scored yet again. 20-0. The game was pretty much over then and we just went through the motions. Gotta love easy victories!

There was something else I wanted to comment on but I just don't recall what. The only other thing I can remember right now is the Colossal Colon. Dave Berry recently wrote an article about this giant colon model that is touring the US. It's rather creepy, but the article was funny. Unfortunately it's not visiting Vegas. But for more info anyways, go to ColossalColon.com
