The golf clubs finally came in, so I've been putting them to use.
A group of us went out to Boulder City and golfed at Boulder Creek a couple Sunday's back. It was a lot of fun. Afterwards we hit up the Boulder Dam Brewing company for a few beers and food, then an impromptu poker game. That ended up being a great weekend.
I also filled in for the Wednesday league thing again, went to Wildhorse's practice area a couple times, and tried to do Angel Park's full course one Wednesday after work. It got too dark for us to finish though. That course was a lot better than I thought it would be. Will definitely have to try and play the whole thing one weekend. This week I'm filling in again for the league, since Ken is on a cruise. Kyle also wants to go play a round sometime soon.
Other than golf, not much has been going on. Its playoff hockey season so I've been obsessed with that. Detroit is kicking ass and starts the Western Conference finals tomorrow against Dallas. The Wranglers start their conference finals games next week. A few of us checked out one of the playoff games last week which was a lot of fun, even though the crowd was pretty thin. I'll probably try to make it out to another one before the season is done.
I'm looking forward to the summer movies. May is going to be pretty busy, and there are tons of movies coming out in the next few months I want to see. It started this last weekend with Iron Man. That shit rocked pretty hard. We shall see who all is interested in getting together for Speed Racer.

This is one of my favorite times of the year...the start of hockey playoff season! Detroit is already up 2-0. I'm gonna see about checking out a Wrangler's playoff game next week if they are still in it.
Its been a couple weeks since the last update, but still no returns to the goth/industrial scene. Can't say I miss the places that are currently running. Instead there was another hockey game outing, a return to Yard House, more Chicago Brewing Company, Gordon Biersch, relaxing, and a new hobby...golf!
A few coworkers are in this short 8 week golf league and one of them was going to be out of town, so I filled in this last week. I went with Kyle the weekend prior to hit a few balls around and hopefully not embarrass myself completely. I hadn't golf in a long, long time. Between the practicing at Wildhorse and going out Wednesday to Angel Park, I am hooked. Wednesday was a lot of fun and I'm happy to report I was not the worst one there! I was the only one not to hit in the water on 7 and I hit my goal of parring at least one hole!
But now that I'm hooked I've already dropped a few bucks on equipment. I probably wouldn't have bought anything, but yesterday I stumbled upon a 25% off coupon for Sports Authority. So new clubs were purchased. I'm hoping they get in before next weekend so Kyle and I can hit the course.
So things are going good and I have a new hobby. On to the not so great...
Its starting to warm up. I dislike the summer heat. About a month or so to go before it starts getting uncomfortable.
Fuck taxes.
I sent in my taxes this year. I always put it off because I owe for my side work. Its not a whole lot, but its still paying and not a return.

This is such great weather for beer...and I've had a lot of it in the last week.
Between Chicago Brewing Company, The Orleans, Yard House, Stoneys, and Lee's I tried 28 different types of beer last week. Goooood times!
Last week was a lot of fun. A few coworkers are doing a golf thing on Wednesdays out in Summerlin, so I ended up meeting them at Chicago Brewing Company. I hadn't been there in a couple years, since a ridiculous night when Metal James soured the staff and we ended up getting the boot.
Thursday there was another Wrangler's game. I'm kind of bummed out I've waited so long to go because they are really fun. Unfortunately they didn't win but the game was more exciting actually. After the game a couple of us stayed to collect a few free beers courtesy of our ticket stubs at the casino bar.
Saturday some ideas were tossed around for dinner and Yard House ended up winning. I really wanted to save Yard House for this Friday but I'm glad I went out. Town Square was insanely crowded. The combination of Spring Break, Easter, and March Madness really had the place hoppin. Yard House was amazing even with a wait. Both the food and beer menu is diverse...and the beer six pack samplers are going to sucker a few of us to going almost every week I think.
Following a few hours of Yard House, A-train, Nina and I went to Stoneys. Later on Kelly joined up too. Its crazy how much fun I have there even though I'm not a big country person. I'm not sure how late I stayed out I know it was late.
Of course Sunday was Easter. Surprisingly I woke up early and felt pretty good. So I watched a few movies before heading over to my parents for Easter dinner.
Ok thats enough for now. Back to TV watching.

This has and will continue to be a busy month.
Been doing a lot of the standard weekend clubbing. Even managed to hit up Vector for a change, since Josh was out of town. I heard from at least a few people that it was much more enjoyable without his presence. I know the music was a lot better for sure.
Last week I also finally managed to catch my first Wranglers hockey game. I don't know why its taken so long to do so, but a group of coworkers and I planned an outing and went on Tuesday. It was a blast, so we are going to try and go next week and get another game or 2 in before the end of the season (April).
This week there is a bit of celebrating going on for Sarah's recent birthday. That should be interesting. Its also St. Patty's day weekend so there is going to be a house party Saturday at the same place we kicked it for New Years Eve. Sunday, Yard House opens. With over 200 beers on tap I've been waiting anxiously to check this place out. But it looks like there will be a team building mission in 2 weeks instead. To round out the month of course is the monthly Blacklist outing, which happens to also be this Sunday. There could even be a Hofbrauhaus trip in the works depending on who can get permission to go out after work.
Look for some updates detailing the fun soon...

So a few more weeks have gone by and there are 2 major things to note:
1. The last night of Sanctuary.
2. De/Vision Hollywood road trip
Kind of suddenly, Sanctuary was killed. I had a sneaking suspicion we were on the last days of the night once Teatro opened. But it still caught everyone off guard and Teatro wasn't the reason it closed. But, for the last night the whole crew was able to make it out. It was quite the crowd for a last hurrah and a lot of fun was had.
The Wednesday before President's day weekend, De/Vision was playing in Hollywood. Aaron and I had purchased tickets awhile back, but he ended up canceling a week prior. I had already scheduled days off from work, so I was bummed I was going to miss it. At the last minute Kelly said she'd go and we could even stay at her sister's. So the trip was saved.
I picked her up Wednesday morning and we drove out to Hollywood not knowing how long we'd stay. Her sister lives just over the hills, but due to bad directions we drove around for an extra hour trying to find her place.
The show was relatively early so we didn't do anything before the show. We initially planned to skip the openers, so we weren't to concerned about having to park a few blocks away and huff it to Safari Sams. But when we got there, they still hadn't let anyone in. They should have been through an opening act or two at least. It was actually a good thing there was a delay. The opening bands were a lot of fun and we were able to chill at the bar, which surprisingly had Boddington's on tap. Safari Sams was a neat little venue for a show. It was 2 levels, pretty big main stage area, and a couple decent bars.
When De/Vision went on we headed upstairs and were lucky enough to grab a table right on the railing overlooking the stage. It was an amazing spot to see the show...which was intense! They rocked it for about an hour and a half. There was a lot of energy and dancing around. The only negative was probably that there wasn't much of the older material. But the new stuff sounded 10x better live.
It was a great night and I'm glad I ended up going.
I thought we might be headed back Thursday, but there was no real rush to get back. Kelly's sister asked us out to dinner with her kinda/sort of boyfriend. We hit up this place called Cheebos. It felt a lot like Firefly, but more for regular dining instead of tapas. All the food and drink was excellent. I'd definitely go back there again sometime. When dinner was done we debated checking out Perversion, but weren't really in the club mood. So we raided a drug store for booze and snacks and just krunked at her sisters place.
Making it to Friday was good because I really wanted to go to Toi and club at Das Bunker again. Fortunately Kelly was on board, and we did both. I love Toi. Its by far my favorite Thai place. They have a "hip" atmosphere and really good curry. Das Bunker was Das Bunker. We bounced from room to room, drank, spilled drinks, danced a bit, and did the normal club stuff. At last call we split. Back at the sisters we continued the party and snacking on leftover food.
Of course we planned to drive back Saturday morning. I was dreading the drive back, fearful of the post partying feeling and also the possible rush of holiday weekend traffic. Kelly was completely out of it and slept almost the entire way back. Shockingly I was energized and the drive was good. It wouldn't have been a successful road trip without some Tommy's though, so there was a quick chili-cheese burger pit stop.
Now on to the rest of your regularly scheduled program...
Being back on Saturday after a road trip was odd. Especially considering I had Monday off for the holiday. It gave me a couple more days to relax and to also go to round 2 of Blacklist. This time I didn't have to worry about work in the morning, so the Blacklist partying was crazy. I was all over the place socializing, dancing, drinking etc. There was an interesting turnout too, and there were some faces I hadn't seen in a long time.
This last weekend was such a change. The Hollywood trip delayed the realization that Sanctuary was closed. I ended up going to Factory to party for a little bit, but the rest of the weekend consisted of movie watching and a quick dinner with Chris and Sarah.
I have absolutely no idea what to do this weekend. Its only Wednesday but the week has felt like an eternity. I think Kyle is coming over Saturday for another UFC fight. Who knows if anything else is on the agenda.
Peace out, bitches.

With it being February I should probably finally make a post. We are well into the new year now, so sadly most of the details have been consumed by time!
For the most part things have been business as usual. Working, relaxing, and hitting up the usual hotspots like Sanctuary, Crown, etc. Of course since my last post we had a couple big happenings...namely the holidays. I lucked out because of the days Christmas and New Years landed on. I was able to take off a big chunk of time while only burning 3 of my vacation days. The downtime was much needed and enjoyed.
My uncle was in town for Christmas and we did the usual family stuff while he was in town. There was some partying between then and New Years. One night I ended up at Double Down with Aaron, Chris, Tan, and Mike. It was a pretty hysterical night that ended over at the Hard Rock. For New Years things really werent decided until the last minute. Various house parties were debated and we didn't decide on the final destination until dinner that night. I went to a co-workers party for a few to check it out and say hi, and then met Chris, Sarah, Aaron, Kelly, and others at Omar's big party. It was a blast. The partying spilled over to Crown and Anchor and even favorites.
January wasnt anything special. Like I previously said, the usual partying and working. There was a poker night thrown into the mix and I checked out Teatro. Keith had his new monthly goth/industrial night at Art Bar which was actually pretty good. I'm looking forward to hitting it up again in 2 weeks.
This weekend was UFC 81 and the Superbowl. So after the usually Sanctuary/Factory partying I slept in and waited for Kyle to come over. The fights were fun to watch and Kyle brought over some Mickey's fine malt liquor to complete the experience! He decided to crash on the couch to watch the Pistons game in the morning and then the Superbowl. I made a buffet of various foods we snacked on during the fights and games. It sucked that the Patriots choked during the big game, oh well.
Now I'm looking forward to next week. De/Vision is playing in Hollywood and the tickets have been purchased. I also found out And One is playing the week after that. So it may be back to back LA road trips...dunno!

Damn its getting cold out. I might need to find my jacket this week. I haven't turned the heat on yet, but I am snuggled up in a blanket writing this.
I'm looking forward to Christmas and New Years, and not just because I'll have 11 days in a row off. This year has gone by so damn fast though. I don't know where the year went.
The work Holiday gatherings have already started. We went to Mirage's feast on Friday and it was very filling. MGM has one Wednesday, TI on Friday, and our Bellagio/MGM Mirage one is on the following Wednesday. =/
Anyways, not much to report on. There was another edition of the co-worker poker party. It was a pretty good time. Poker, beer, and pizza...can't go wrong with that. Other than that, same old stuff. A couple Sanctuary outtings and chilling at home. I did end up at Treasures Friday night (Saturday morning).
As previously mentioned, De/Vision is coming to the US...and the Seabound and Iris show has a confirmed LA date now. So looks like February and March are going to have some fun trips planned out.

I am very excited by the news of De/Vision touring the US early next year. There are some west coast dates and at least one of them is with Melotron.
I will make one of those shows no matter what.
I'm also waiting to see where Iris and Seabound will be in their tour together in March.

The last 2 weeks have been pretty damn fun. They usually are though, considering my birthday and Halloween are less than a week apart.
The Friday before Halloween a bunch of coworkers and I planned a little teambuilding at Hofbrauahaus to celebrate Oktoberfest (they do it all month). Of course I didn't know the Sanctuary halloween party was going to be that night until about 2 days beforehand. The promotion for Sanctuary is just god-awful, but thats a whole other rant. Anyways, Hofbrauhaus was a blast. Got there around 4pm and ended up staying until after 10. I would have stayed longer but I had to get home and change for Sanctuary. I was going to blow it off but Chris, Sarah and the gang were all going. They always do Halloween all out, so I dont even bother trying. Its still fun, especially when I drunkenly steal parts of peoples costumes.
Flash forward to actual Halloween night. Not much was planned with anybody, but Bungie decided to make a special holiday gametype hopper. So I stayed in and played a bunch of Halo 3. Ended up playing a few games with Chris and Aaron in the process.
Saturday was my actual birthday, but I scheduled the party on Friday to make it more convenient for some. Some being James, who bitched out (yah yah, thats #3 asshole). I took the day off so I could take care of some things. Renew my license, extend my apartment lease, etc. Aaron and I ended up going to Sheplers to get some cowboy items for the Stoney's outting. He already has his gay cowboy shirt so he got a big belt buckle, while I purchased a cowboy hat. We also grabbed some Capriottis.
Later that night we headed over to Stoneys and were eventually joined by my brother, Chris and Sarah, Kelly, and a coworker of mine. We drank and partied and people eventually filtered out. Aaron, Kelly and I decided to go to Sanctuary for a bit after. All in all, it was a fun birthday party.
Of course the next morning wasnt quite as pleasant, but I wont get into that.
The birthday celebrations werent yet complete though. A group of us met up at Lucille's for some bbq din din action. My friends all hooked me up with some hd-dvds to start my collection. Which reminds me, I forgot to mention I purchased the 360 HD-DVD player add-on before Halloween. Best Buy was running a pretty slick deal, so I said screw it and caved in. I'm glad I did.
Theres not much else to report on really. Just been working and catching lots of good football games.
Until next time bitches!

Thank god its Friday. Work has been rough this week and today was capped off by a nice long, boring training seminar.
I also managed to have a pretty good kitchen misshap...splattering hot oil on my left hand and some splash damage to my face. My hand has some pretty good marks, and there are a few good ones on my face. Hopefully the redness and marking goes away and it doesnt scar. Good thing I was ugly to begin with!
Oh well, the weekend is here now. Time to have a few drinks, watch some tv, play a little Halo, and just unwind.

Damnit, there is too much new tv and Halo 3 to be played but not enough time!
Its fun getting back into gaming. I've played a few games off and on the last year or two but Halo 3 is making me remember how fun it was to get wrapped up in a game.
Saturday night Chris, Aaron, Adam and I went through and played through the entire campaign in Legendary mode in 1 sitting. Haven't had a gaming sesh like that in a long long time.
Other than that, not much else is going on. Had the normal Sanctuary outting Friday. They decided to continue the drink special so I guess thats a plus. And before the Halo action Saturday I also hit up Memphis BBQ with the crew.
Peace bitches.

This past weekend was a blast.
I'm really digging poker lately. Whether its a drunken fun game or playing seriously on Full Tilt, I'm always enjoying it. The coworker this game was damn fun. Everyone was having a good time!
Also good this weekend was Michigan finally winning and Detroit going to 2-0.
Most amazing though was probably Friday at Sanctuary. I've not been going much lately, and apparently that goes for alot of people. So to get some more people there the club decided to do a $15 all you can drink night. That got Kelly and I out. After Megadeth Chris and Sarah joined too. Aaron was there. Linda. Pierre. Rich, Tina, and Spyder. Barnaby. Lots of familiar faces, dancing, and an all around blast! It hasnt been that good in awhile.
There was some not so good this weekend though. Namely my car and Nina's car getting vandalized while at Ken's for poker. Some douchebags wrote shit on our cars in some sort of glue.
Bioshock has been pretty slick game. I'm almost done with it but I'm going to have to rent it from Blockbuster to finish it up this weekend. Since I bought the used version from Gamestop I was able to return it within 7 days and get some other things I know will have more replay value, like Fusion Frenzy 2 and some more points to for the Live Arcade. I'm also pumped about Halo 3 coming out next week.
I'm not sure what to do for the rest of the week. Tomorow Edgar is doing another of his nights at Ra Sushi. But its also UFC Fight Night. Theres also a UFC ppv Saturday. But Sarah has posted something about a Mario Kart pot luck gathering. Friday they are also doing another of the $15 all you can drink specials. But I'm also itching to hit Stoneys again. Too many decisions!
Aarrrrgh!!!

I figured this last weekend was going to be less eventful, but that wasnt really the case. Well, at least it was compared to Labor Day.
Friday I wasn't sure what to do, but Kyle messaged me asking to meet him at Ellis Island. I figured what the hell, I'll do that and roll to Sanctuary after a few $1 beers. Well Kelly ended up meeting us there too, with the same intention. But the $1 beers and gambling seemed more fun than Sanctuary so we decided to stay. Eventually we made are way into the lounge and enjoyed the ongoing karaoke.
Saturday was a day full of sporting events. Sadly Michigan fell to 0-1 rather predictably against Oregon's spread offense. That sets up a pillowfight between 0-2 Notre Dame and 0-2 Michigan. Ridiculous! UNLV fared better even though it was Wisconsin playing down to our level, but we still lost. So they are 1-1 on the season.
I met Kyle over at Sammys Woodfired Pizza for dinner and then we caught UFC 75 on tv. We decided to try one of those Heineken draught kegs. It normally wouldnt be enough for the both of us, but we werent in heavy drinking mode. Its a neat little contraption, with its built in CO2 delivery system. It tasted better than the bottles, but value wise I'm not so sure.
As for the fights, it was a pretty good card. Even better, it was free on Spike. The main event of Rampage vs Hendo was fantastic. Can't wait for more fights in 2 weeks.
Sunday was the first weekend of NFL football. Its the best time of year. In a few more weeks the weather will start cooling down more. The weekends will be filled with football watching and sports betting. It'll be nice! Shockingly, UNLV and now the Lions both have better records than Michigan. 1-1 and 1-0 vs. 0-2. Something just ain't right in the world!
Sunday night I managed to venture out to TGIFridays for the first time in a long long time. Some drinks and trivia. One of our favorite bartenders Kevin was in town for the Wisconsin game so we ran into him. Pretty random...
This weekend should be fun. The next big co-worker poker game is upon us and it is at Ken's. The craziest games have been there for the most part. I also just got back from Gamestop where I traded in some old stuff, bought Bioshock, and reserved Halo 3 for when it comes out in a couple weeks. So gaming is in my future for sure!

The last week or so has been pretty crazy! The Labor Day weekend played a big part, but there was some outtings before that as well. Football season is also underway, but more on that later.
I guess it started 2 Mondays ago. Kelly and I decided to check out the movie night at Red Room. $10 drinking game to crazy classic movies. The movie of the night happened to be Caddyshack. Pretty good night. We ended up heading to Attik after to see Pierre spin for a bit.
Wednesday Edgar was putting on a new night at Ra Sushi and Patrick was opening as a DJ. It also being Nina's birthday, it was a good opportunity to watch DJ Propecia spin. Foods were had and giant fishbowl drinks consumed...by me at least. Another good outting!
Friday we decided to do a little team building at Firefly after work. Luckily we also got out early for the 3 day weekend. Firefly has the best tapas. A group of us chilled for a few hours before calling it an afternoon. The idea of hitting up Stoneys Rockin Country was out there and Nina, Patrick and I decided to meet up there later. Ken ended up declining. For those of you who arent familiar, Stoneys is the new country bar/club from the people who ran Gilleys. The place was pretty slick. Huge dance floor, bars, a small arcade, mini-bowling, electronic darts, pool tables, mechanical bull, and $20 all you can drink beer bust! Needless to say it was quite a blast.
Saturday night Greg hosted another of his bbqs. I ate so much food while people talked and played Wii. Chicken, pork loin, steak, carne asada fajitas, ribs, king crab, cream cheese and crab ragoons, bratwurst, and tons of Greg's delicious homemade bbq sauce! That Wii is weird. I dont know if I'd ever spend the money. The heat, beer, and food took alot out of me though so I called it a day after just over 4 hours of chillin.
Of course with Monday being a day off, the party continued Sunday. Edgar once again hooked us up. This time the party was at Revolution. Aaron, Rich and Tina also showed up at various parts of the night. Saw some other random people as well: an old co-worker, Morningstar, Becca, and various DJ friends of Edgars.
Of course with all the fun packed into the last week or so, Monday was much needed for recovery and relaxation.
Anyways, on to the football front. The NFL preseason ended and the first game is Thursday. College football however, started and pretty much ended for me on Saturday. Michigan got beat by Appalachian St. It actually wasnt as big of a shock as it should have been for me, as I had a sneaking suspicion that the upset could happen. Sadly there isnt much to look forward to after the setback. Next year Michigan will have a new coach, and a new core of offensive starters. It could be a rough few years for Michigan football.
I'm looking forward to two things later this month: the next coworker poker gathering and the release of Halo 3. Hopefully neither dissappoints.
Peace out for now!

Another weekend has passed and it was a pretty good one. Earlier in the week I picked up a copy of the new Madden 08 for my 360. After playing it awhile I was back in Xboxing mode. So I decided to stay in and chill Friday night.
Saturday was another co-worker poker party. This time it was way out in Summerlin. It let me finally pass by Red Rock Station. Looks pretty impressive. I'll have to head back out and go inside next time. Alot of the crazier people were not around so the game felt a little more serious. I ended up getting second again. I keep getting in the money but cant take it all. Better then losing though...plus I got the bounty on Patrick's head when I knocked him out.
After the game I stopped by Crown to get some food and chill for a bit, but it was a bunch of weirdos in there so I decided to leave after one. Instead I ended up picking up Kelly and heading over to Ellis Island to meet up with her brother.
Today is my Mom's birthday so my brother and I went out to eat with her at PF Changs. Toss in my current tv watching and some more Xbox playing, and that was my weekend in a nut shell.
Off to do some laundry and possibly jump onto Full Tilt for some online poker.

All of the partying this weekend was crammed into Friday night. Saturday and Sunday were for recovering and movie watching.
So Friday after work a group of us headed over to Hofbrauhaus for some "teambuilding". You can't go wrong with giant beer steins, music shenanigans, and german sausage! After a few hours of fun and the big bossman picking up the tab, someone had the bright idea to move the party to Spearmint Rhino. So a few of us headed over there for a bit. I had to roll out early so I could get home and change for Aaron's party.
I made it home just in time to turn around, pick up Kelly, and make it to Sanctuary. The partying was pretty epic. Tons of people showed up for Atrain. I dont even know what time it was when people split. Afterwards Kelly and I headed out to meetup with her brother and cousin who is in town for the weekend.
Yah, that was about enough to drain me for the rest of the weekend.
I'm psyched that football is starting up soon. The preseason has already started and the Lions pulled out a nice little comeback against the Bengals. Of course the pre-season means absolutely dick. But, at least its football.
I also finally had my funds cleared for playing on Full Tilt again. Haven't done much of the online poker in a long time, and the procedures to get money into accounts has become tedious. But now I'm setup so I should be good to go for awhile.

So yesterday Barry Bonds hit number 756. It just didnt seem as exciting as any of my teams winning a championship or some other big records that have been broken in my lifetime (Cal Ripken, the McGwire/Sosa HR race, etc). He's already hit 757 tonight.
Moving on...
So last week the partying started a bit early. I knew Colt was coming in town with Kevyn for his step-brothers wedding. This of course meant bachelor party for us! I planned ahead and took Friday off knowing it was going to be an all nighter. We started at Spearmint Rhino at about 9:30. The groom to be actually split early since he was being an asshole. We stuck around and enjoyed the night while waiting for some other people to join up. Rhino is always a good time, and before we knew it the clock was approaching 2! The plan after was to go to the Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay. Its members only, but the people we were waiting on were members. Saaaadly, by the time we got there they had closed up. I guess they stop letting people up after 1:30. Oh well, not much we could have done differently since their flight was late. Instead we ended up going to Forty Deuce. I had never been there and at first it was pretty lame. Very small place and shit music. But then they did their little live rock/burlesque show and things improved. When all was said and done it was just after 5 when I got dropped off at home.
I utilized my day off by sleeping in as planned. Colt had plans for Friday but I guess they fell through, so we had decided to do dinner with Kevyn and his mom. He suggested Famous Daves, which I immediatly jumped at. I've been dying to go there for a few years now. Thankfully it didn't disappoint! I went home after to digest some BBQ goodness, then headed to Kelly's for some pre-club partying. I of course forgot it was Defcon night and the club was filled with a bunch of nasty wannabe hax0rz. So it was an early club night...
Saturday the rest of the group and I got together for some dinner at Chilis. Chris showed off his new purchase - a new Toyota Prius. Its got quite a few neat new features. Some are becoming pretty standard in new cars and others were unique to his hybrid. Like the Echo its surprisingly spacious. I picked up some rentals from Blockbuster on the way back and relaxed the rest of the night.
Sunday was looking to be another lounge day, but Aaron threw together some plans to go to Firefly and possibly Ellis Island so he could party when the clock struck midnight and it was officially his birthday. I didn't plan on going, but he and Kelly pressured me into it. Firefly is amazing. The tapas are incredible. Filet mignon, grilled shrimp, and chorizo! I tore that shit up son! Mostly everyone split after his last birthday shots, but Kelly already told her brother we were all going to Ellis. I went to drop her off but ended up staying for a bit. Metal James was there, which kind of caught me off guard. I messaged Aaron that tidbit, and he headed over as well.
The only down part to the last few days has been my sickness. I had a really slow developing cold about a week ago that held off until Colt was gone, but Tuesday it hit me pretty hard. Today was a bit better so I'm hoping tomorow it clears up. This weekend isn't going to be any slower. Aaron already has tables reserved at Sanctuary and is sending out a bunch of the birthday flyers I made for him. If that wasn't enough, today it was decided there would be a little bit of "teambuilding" at Hofbrauhaus after work Friday. Kelly also informs me that her cousin is back in town...so I cant even imagine what else might be going on this weekend. Even Monday plans are already made, since Combichrist is playing at Barcode!
Fuck
No rest for the wicked I suppose...

Alright, I promised an update so here one is.
Work has been eh. I feel worn out. We've been short handed for the last month. Last week we finally had a new person start, and unfortunately someone else put in notice. So the short handedness will continue. Ugh...
I actually waited too long to post this so I dont have all the details of the last months shenanigans. Most of the usual partying has been going on. Sanctuary, Crown, a trip back to Vector, Attik, Beauty Bar and other randomness. Ended up going to Divebar and Big Johns for the first time. Big Johns seems like it could be fun if there were people.
There was another co-worker poker game too. That was pretty fun. It was a weeknight but there was still a good turnout. Ended up getting second in the main game.
Chris' birthday was 2 weekends ago but he went to New Orleans, so we had a group dinner this last weekend. Went to Gardunos. The prices and service at that place keep getting worse.
Anyways, I'm going to try to get back to my regular posting.
Thursday Colt is coming to town so there are already plans for some epic partying. Unfortunately James is going to Oregon so he's gonna miss out. This next week is also Aarons birthday. So who knows what shit is going to go down for that.
Stay tuned bitches!

We shall see what happens the next few weeks. I think I'll be getting some more info on how our group is going to proceed at work. Lots of big movies are coming out. My friend Tina just moved back from St. Louis so we are planning to hang out some. Next week there is a free day off for the 4th, probably the biggest UFC fight of the year, and possibly a co-worker poker game.
As I thought, I've been keeping pretty busy still.
Last weekend was pretty crazy. There was the standard Sanctuary partying of course, and Chris and Sarah were able to make it out. Saturday was the real party though. An old co-worker of mine, Greg, was having one of his big bbqs in anticipation of the 4th. Talk about a shitload of food. Steak, brats, king crab, corn on the cob, shish kabobs, salmon, tons of beer, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff. It was a pretty good time to say the least.
Monday night was the 1 year anniversary of The Attik, so I decided I'd make the trek out there for a change. Alan and Barnaby djed, so it wasn't half bad. Kicked it with Atrain. Talked to Pierre and Jess for a bit. Had some Pilsner Urquell and called it an early night.
The partying continued Tuesday because everyone had Wednesday off. So Kelly, Aaron and I went to Beauty Bar for this Jim Morrison tribute and The Doors cover band. After Beauty Bar Kelly and I split for Griffin and had about the strongest drink ever.
More to come later...

Ah yes, finally a new update.
The past month or so has been filled with some serious partying, some developments at work, lots of side projects, and finally a roadtrip to Hollywood with the A-train.
Work has been interesting to say the least, with some people putting in notices and having their last days. I'm more or less the interim leader of our Production Services group for now. Not exactly sure how that is going to change in the next month.
Had a new big side project that is mostly done now. Glad to get the bulk of that out of the way.
I've been renting alot of movies and also using the Xbox 360 movie download feature. Seen some good ones. Seen some eh ones. I thought Babel was pretty overrated and boring. The Departed was good. Just finished Miami Vice. Watched another dozen or so the last few weeks. Gonna try to pick up The Fountain this week.
As for the partying, well its been epic.
The two highlights were the Hollywood trip and the weekend before.
Couple Fridays back Chris, Aaron and I went out to Sanctuary and had a pretty good time. Surprisingly, Chris and I agreed to go to Beauty Bar More surprising is the fact we had fun.
Gilleys was the next day. Aaron and Ashleigh had planned on going out, and dressing the part. So I decided I'd go and rope James into the mess. He ended up getting Jared Edgel and some girl to go as well. Wolverton topped it off. Lots of drinking, bull riding, more drinking, watching bikini bullriding. Apparently we all ended up at many different places after.
Midway through the week we found out And One cancelled their part of the VNV tour. So we were kind of bummed. But we still made the trip out to Hollywood.
I drove Aaron and myself out there and we made damn good time. We found our hotel and chilled until Ashleigh got there. We got semi-lost looking for a Taco Bell and then relaxed at the hotel. Kelly joined us at the room a bit later and we pre-krunked pretty hard before taking a cab to Das Bunker. There we metup with Chris and Sarah. Bunker was pretty good. Normal dancing and drinking. They had a new outside patio for smokers. After a few hours of partying we headed back to the hotel. Kelly and I were going to go try and find Pinks, but there was some miscommunication and the plan fell through. So we called it a night instead.
The next day was another trek to Taco Bell...god damnit. We're in LA and Aaron wants Taco Bell? For dinner we hit up Toi at my urging, and it was damn good Thai food. After Toi, the trip hit a bit of a snag. The three of us were kind of out of it and didn't feel like doing the concert thing.
We've seen VNV and were looking foreward to seeing And One more. So at the last minute we decided to go to Bar Sinister instead. I think we made the right call. Bar Sinister was better than Bunker this trip. Danced like a fool, drank, and got bacon wrapped hot dogs to finish the night up!
Add a little bit of Tommy's on the drive back and the trip was pretty damn fun, and much needed.
So I'm going to keep busy...if you want to see any of the Hollywood trip pics, check my Myspace.

The last couple weeks I've gone over my normal fun budget, but luckily I've had a bit more side work come in.
Last weekend Kelly's cousin was in town. The last time he was here he hooked us up with a bunch of stuff when we were out, so we were kinda looking forward to his return. He didn't hook us up this time, but we still went out and partied pretty hard. We ended up at Body English, Sanctuary, a couple more places, and then Crown and Anchor. Quite a long and expensive night. But alot of fun.
This weekend I spent a bit to much, though this time it was because of my poor judgement and decision to play blackjack at 3am. LOL.
Not much else to report. Chris and Sarah headed off to Iceland for their little vacation, so the group gathered at this mediterranean restaurant. Its usually not my thing but it wasn't bad.
NBA and NHL playoffs are still ongoing. The Pistons start the Eastern Conference Finals Monday night. The Redwings are down 3-2 in their series. There were a couple of opportunities squandered unfortunately. Hopefully we can battle back.
The Halo 3 beta is out. I really want to play it, but I think its lame that the only way to gain access is by purchasing another game that I don't want.
In other gaming news, Blizzard has finally announced Starcraft 2.
This should be a quick week. I decided to maximize my vacation days that are scheduled to reset next month by taking them around Memorial day. So this week and next I'll have 3 day work weeks with a nice 6 day break in between.

The last few weeks have been rough, sort of, at least at work. Just been stressful having to deal with some stuff. Combine that with some welcome distractions when I've been off, and that explains the lack of posts. Its been too long to go in depth all the recent events, but here are a few of the highlights.
Of course first and foremost its been playoff time...both NHL and NBA. As of tonight, the Redwings are into the Conference Finals and the Pistons are up 3-0 in the second round. Teams are looking good.
A few weeks back we had our MGM Mirage Voice charity poker tournament. As a group we were able to get our own satellite table. Of course before hand, a few of us had a little "teambuilding" at Spearmint Rhino. Always a good time. After we headed over to MGM for the game. It was upstairs in a private area overlooking the sports book, which was pretty sweet. But the game setup left alot to be desired. At least it was for charity. =/
I saw Hot Fuzz at some point, which was pretty sweet. I liked Shaun of the Dead, so I was hopefull. Thankfully it didn't disappoint.
Uhm, what else....alot of the usual partying with Kelly. Sanctuary a few times. A couple TGIF outtings. Crown a bunch of times.
For some reason Chris and Sarah ended up going to Red Room, and since Aaron always goes and Kelly has asked me to go before we said what the hell and went on Cinco de Mayo. Turns out an old co-worker from Traffic Power works there. The place wasnt too bad, I guess I'd go again if people gathered there. That same night Aaron pestered us into going to Krave. Krave Krave...not the Sanctuary Krave. So many dudes making out, ugh.
I think thats just about it. This weekend should be pretty crazy. Kelly's cousin is getting to town and last time he was here he hooked us up with some epic partying. There is hockey and basketball games. Sanctuary. Possibly Spiderman 3. Who know what else.
